 What
are your work responsibilities ? I am from the Machine Engineering section and we are taking care of the production machineries in the process. Our main responsibilities are to increase the reliability of our machineries constantly, to improve our competitiveness by reducing maintenance cost and to introduce new generation manufacturing equipments. What kind of development that you experience when working in Murata? When I first joined the company, I was given a chance to undergo training in Japan. Not only this program allowed me to acquire knowledge needed for my job, but it also exposed me to the working culture of the company. In addition, I managed to establish network with relevant people. It had helped me to pave the way to carry on with my job smoothly. In addition, to suppport the introduction of new technological machineries and the establishment of advance technology, technical specialists from Japan often come to the company and share their expertise. Coupled with different management teams that comes from Japan, they provide precious learning platform and opportunity for everyone to grow in the company. What are the positive culture that you experience when working in Murata? In the recent years, Murata had emphasized the importance of Customer's Satisfaction and Employee's Satisfaction. This projected a very positive value among the employees. In 2007, the company engaged external consultant to study the organization behavior and identified the challenges we were facing. This was followed by a series of activities to improve our working culture/system to remain competitive. The main focus of the culture change activities is to improve the way we lead and communicate. It demonstrates the determination of our leaders to shape our company and to value our people as the main asset of the company. |
 What
are your work responsibilities? I have worked in Murata for about four years as an overseas sales support staff. My core work responsibility is to provide support to our overseas affiliates in Thailand on daily shipments. The support entails of handling general enquiries and clarifications, giving professional advice in the event of any extraordinary circumstances, analyzing and resolving problems, processing orders and controlling inventory of our Thailand clients. How is the relationship among your working team? My section (overseas sales support section), which comprises of 6 employees, is considered a relatively small working team in Murata Sales Division. Though we came from diverse backgrounds and personalities (we have colleagues from Malaysia, Vietnam, etc.), but we are united as one. We show care and concern to each other like a big family and provide moral support to whomever that needs help without hesitating. To me, there’s no better place than Murata for friendship. How do your supervisor support you in your work? My supervisor has been working in Murata for a decade, therefore she is an experienced staff with many valuable knowledge and exposure of company’s business. In fact, most of my colleagues are experienced staff, hence whenever there are any issues that I’m not familiar with, most are willing to help and coach me. Regular information sharing between supervisor and subordinate has also helped to bridge the gap in self knowledge. Why do you think Murata is a good place to work? Murata is a good learning ground. Even though I have worked in Murata for some time, I feel that I am growing each day because I have plentiful opportunities to learn new things and gain knowledge every day. Murata is a fun and energetic organization where its talented staff are ready to face new challenges everyday. |

are your work responsibilities? I am conducting planning for manufacturing activities for my section, and responsible to do daily coordination with all relevant sections to ensure the achievement of our manufacturing targets. In addition. I am handling several projects to improve our work processes, such as firing process innovation as well as one-day lead-time project. How is the relationship among your working team? Although we interact with each other very professionally in handling our works, our relationship is really warm and close. It makes me feel like we are a big family. How do your supervisor support you in your work? My supervisor supports me and provides me with all the necessary guidance in order for me to complete my work and to grow my career in the company. He also gives me reasonable challenges in my work so that I can expand my thought and grow my potential. What are the positive culture that you experience when working in Murata? One thing that surprises me is that although this is a manufacturing company, the work environment is great. The colleagues are caring and the management is supportive. I am surrounded by good people that treat me with warmth and care. |
